In Memoriam: Frances Richard

“The member organizations of the Music Creators North America (MCNA) alliance join the National Music Council, the Songwriters Guild of America and the entire music community in mourning the loss of former ASCAP vice-president. Fran Richard.

She cared deeply about composers, songwriters, creators of every stripe, and about the future of music itself. Her service at ASCAP, at NMC, and with what seemed like hundreds of other groups dedicated to the protection and advancement of music creators and the culture they create, was unsurpassed. She gave all she had, and she gave it with love. We will miss her, and cherish her memory.

The world needs more Fran Richards. Especially now that the original is gone. Condolences to her family, including all who knew her.”
